UN alarmed about Trump’s US human law policy

A-Human rights commissioner Volker Türk has great concern about the course of the USA Under President Donald Trump expressed.

Turk did not call Trump by name

The Austrian diplomat warned that the split rhetoric is used to deceive and polarize people. In particular, Türk did not name Trump when he appeared in front of the UN Human Rights Council. The Human Rights Council is the most important UN committee for the global monitoring of human rights. Trump announced the withdrawal of the United States from the Council in early February. Already in 2018 he ended membership in his first term. His successor Joe Biden returned in 2021, but did not let the United States vote again after the three -year membership.

Regardless of the US withdrawal, Israel also announced the end of his cooperation with the Human Rights Council. Israel accuses the committee of bias after it has several serious violations of human rights in connection with the Gaza War.
