South Korea President was released by the court from custody

The South Korean court freed the President of the Republic of Korea Yun Sok Yolya from custody, Yonhap reports.

In February, the party of the president filed an appropriate application to the Central Court of Seoul.

On December 3, 2024, Yun Sok Yol announced the introduction of martial law in the country. Then, in a television show to the people, the head of state accused the opposition of that it, with the help of North Korea and using control over parliament, is trying to undermine the constitutional order. On December 14, the parliament announced the impeachment of Yun Sok Yol. On December 31, at the request of the investigation, the Western District Court of Seoul issued an arrest warrant of Yun Joil in the case of the introduction of martial law and an attempt to rebellion. On January 15, the president, accused of rebellion, was arrested.
