France no longer most popular country for the second stay of Belgians

Belgians who purchase a second stay abroad prefer to do so in Spain. Neighbor of France is thus knocked off the throne for the first time. Het Laatste Nieuws reports this on Wednesday on the basis of figures from the Federal Public Service (FPS) Finance.

Belgians with foreign real estate must indicate this at the tax authorities for a number of years. For years, France (70,398 Belgians had real estate) at the top, but now eternal second Spain (70,620) has dethroned the neighboring country.

Italy (29,329), the Netherlands (14,101), Portugal (9,795) and Greece (5,906), followed by some outliers such as India (1,110), the United States (1,048) and Bulgaria (821).
