American Company manufactures the smallest microcontroller in the world

US semiconductor company Texas Instruments introduces MSPM0C1104, microcontroller (MCU) with a size of only 1.38 mm2, at the Embedded World 2025 conference in Nuremberg, Germany, March 11 – 13. MSPM0C1104 is equivalent to black pepper and introduced by Texas Instruments is the smallest microcontroller in the world.

The microcontroller is basically a tiny computer. They provide compact, cost -effective solutions to control small electronic devices like wearing devices on humans.

CPU inside MSPM0C1104 is ARMV32-bit Cortex-M0+, operating at a maximum frequency of 24 MHz. Meanwhile, the processor has a 1KB SRAM and 16 KB Flash memory.

Texas Instruments said that MSPM0C1104 is 38% smaller than the smallest microcontroller on the market today. This microcontroller will only cost $ 0.2 per unit if buying in bulk. However, people who want to try early can pay 5.99 USD for the MSPM0C1104 Launchpad development kit.

According to Tom’s Hardware page, MSPM0C1104 can operate in a thermal environment from -40 degrees C to 125 degrees Celsius. This microcontroller is also very effective because of the 87 microampere/MHz consumption when running. When in standby mode with SRAM memory, they consume 5 microamperees.
