Al-Sharaa signed the Constitutional Declaration of Syria

The declaration provides temporary president with the right to appoint members of parliament and the right to declare a state of emergency. According to the Constitutional Declaration, the President of the Republic exercises executive power in the country with the support of ministers in the performance of their duties.

The declaration also stipulates the creation of a commission for the formation of a permanent constitution. The constitutional declaration comes into force immediately after its official publication, at the next stage the Central Election Commission will be formed, which will control the elections to the People’s Council – the Syria parliament.
