Deputy Prime Minister invited Standard Chartered to join the International Financial Center in Vietnam

The Deputy Prime Minister said that Vietnam decided to build two international financial centers in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang with the expectation of creating pushes, helping the economy to participate more deeply into the global value chain.

Government leaders want Standard Chartered to continue to participate in the formation of international financial centers in Vietnam. He suggested Standard Chartered make recommendations, recommendations and support Vietnam, and become an important part of these centers.

Standard Chartered is a leading international corporation in the banking field with a history of over 170 years, present in more than 50 markets worldwide. In Vietnam, this bank opened its first office in 1904. By 2009, the Group founded Standard Chartered Bank Vietnam and currently has 4 branches in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Currently, this bank also cooperates and supports in the process of developing a project to establish an international financial center in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. Mr. Salif Malik, affirming that Standard Chartered will continue to support Vietnam in the process of building, forming, operating and managing international financial centers.

In addition, this group plans to continue expanding cooperation and investing in Vietnam, especially in emerging areas such as green economy, circulating economy. Therefore, Mr. Laif Malik asked the Government to continue supporting and creating advantages for the bank to operate stable, efficient, sustainable and successful in Vietnam.

According to the Vietnam Government’s plan, the two financial centers will be established and operated in 2025. The operator is in the process of improving institutions and developing policies to develop these regional and international financial centers. This is a big policy of the Politburo and the Government to mobilize resources for the country’s development in the new era.

This trips of the Deputy Prime Minister this time to learn the experience and promote cooperation for the formation and development of these two financial centers. Because, he is a huge, long -standing financial market, with a lot of experience in operating international financial centers.

In addition to Standard Chartered, over the past time, he also supported Vietnam to develop a project to establish two financial centers. Including Tony Blair Institute because of the global change (TBI) by the former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

At the meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh on the same day, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, currently President of TBI, said that the establishment of an international financial center in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang will strongly support Vietnam’s development process, opening up many new opportunities and prospects for cooperation.

Mr. Tony Blair affirmed that he would accompany Vietnamese authorities in the process of establishing and operating the international financial center and other economic activities.

Yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh also met and suggested that the Vietnamese intellectuals in the UK continued to contribute ideas and recommend the formation and development of international financial centers in Vietnam.
