OnePlus Watch 3 stands out in robustness and autonomy, although a small size for smaller wrists is missing

The new OnePlus Watch 3 It is a ‘smartwatch’ that easily receives the qualification of outstanding, both at the functional level, with a dynamic interface and autonomy that reaches five days, as well as design, with a robust format, resistant and adaptable to any ‘outfit’, despite the fact that it only has a size and does not finish being compatible with smaller wrists.

The company presented this device in mid -February under the slogan ‘Never Settle’ (translated as’ never satisfied ‘), at which time he communicated that he had developed it thinking of offering “a partner” for health and physical activity, in addition to a “fashion complement”, without losing the sense of utility and their commitment to users’ health.

This can be verified from a single glance, since its appearance is far from the previous generation due to certain details of the body of the clock, which is offered in the black and silver colors, both compatible with silicone straps, also in Obsidian Titanium (black) and Esmerald Titanium (green). The previous model, on the other hand, had a leather version.

In this case, a titanium bezel has been added with the minutes around the screen, while its box, stainless steel, has two action buttons on the right side although, unlike the previous generation, a most outstanding rotating crown and pyramidal.

This directly directs the ‘smartwatch’ options and prevents the user from touching the screen to run any action. This is already possible in smart watches of other brands, but it is the first time that OnePlus introduces it to one of theirs. The lower button, as then, provides direct access to sports modes.

The size of this clock also grows with respect to the previous generation: compared to 1.43 of the AMOLED screen of the previous generation, which also had too thick frames, the new watch comes with a 1.5 -inch ltpo panel, with 2,200 maximum brightness nits. On the other hand, it has 2D sapphire crystal, a material thanks to which it is less susceptible to scratches.

Although we have not dared or found the need to prove its IP68 military certification, mistreat the device, throwing it against a hard surface or introducing it several meters deep, during the weeks that we have used as the main ‘smartwatch’ has not suffered any damage.

One of the features that this ‘smartwatch’ does maintain with respect to OnePlus Watch 2 is Its double processor architecture. On the one hand, Qualcomm Snapdragon W5, and, on the other, Bes2800, prepared with a 6 nanometers finger process; that executes the tasks that demand less resources and does so in the background to save energy.

Its battery, 631mAh capacity, has improved and much with respect to the ‘smartwatch’ last year, even though it had no paste. This time, we have verified that the OnePlus Watch 3 can be on up to five days (120 hours, compared to 100 of the previous model) in intelligent mode.

If more than normal in this mode is used and provided that the active screen (AOD) has not been activated Until after 16 days on.

Health control

Unlike other ‘smartwatches’, which are only placed on the surface of the wrist, the OnePlus model “hugs” this part of the body to accurately record different measurements, through different sensors: temperature, heart rate, optical, geomagnetic, light sensor, acceleration, gyroscope and barometer.

Having a smaller doll, it is essential to squeeze it a lot so that I can collect all this data -the mood meter, always at the ‘normal’ level despite having suffered several moments of stress, could reveal that it is not very reliable when the belt is loosen -, something that could probably be solved with a smaller, lighter model.

It should be noted in this sense that the sleep meter has not been especially precise, since on several occasions has begun to count sleep time by detecting that we have lying, long before disconnecting the phone and trying to reconcile the dream.

Despite these inconveniences, the device offers an option of 60 -second health check (In our tests, the duration has always been lower) than a complete study taking into account indicators such as vascular health and physical and mental state, thanks to Body and mind.

In general, the ‘software’ of this device, which is driven by Wearos, shines for its agility in applications such as WhatsApp. Without having to check the mobile, it is possible to display full size images, as well as respond with emojis, with a text message or by voice.

Another feature that avoids depending on the phone is one that allows you to match it with the ‘smartphone’ to control the distance device and reproduce service videos such as Tiktok or YouTube Shorts doing ‘Scroll’ on the screen of the watch itself.

Together with the functionalities designed for leisure, the clock is presented as a very complete option for sports activities. So much so, that it admits more than a hundred modes; Eleven of them professionals -Iesquí, tennis, bádminton, swimming, cycling and mountaineering, among others-, to monitor more exahustive of the activity.

For example, when trying it during an outdoor walk, the clock is capable of showing values such as the distance traveled -reflected in a very faithful way thanks to the double frequency GPS that incorporates the device -, the burned calories or the steps that have been taken. All these results can be expanded with the OHEALTH APPLICATIONfrom which it is also possible to configure the monitoring of the neck posture, to develop good postural habits or receive low spo2 alerts.

In short, OnePlus has created one of the most beautiful and efficient watches compatible with Wear OS (If not the best) and has done so thinking about the daily needs of users, beyond the measurement of health and sports options, which are not having to load it every day and not fear damage for unforeseen blows. Now, a small size would be appreciated for smaller wrists and to take advantage of all the monitoring options it offers.
