INAH trade unionists demand compliance with award they won against the institute

More than a hundred workers with the National Union of Administrative, Manual, Technicians and Professional Workers of the National Institute of Anthropology and History (STAMTP-INAH) protested yesterday outside the INAH central offices, located in the Roma Norte neighborhood, to demand that they allow them to access commissions after having won a award that empowers them to be part of them.

After the rally, representatives of the members were received by the general director of the INAH, the anthropologist Diego Prieto Hernández, who promised to take the case to the Plenary of the Federal Board of Conciliation and Arbitration.

In an interview with The day, Olegario Reynaldo Cortés Cortés, general secretary of that union representation, and his partner Silvia Loza, explained that This rally was carried out to demand compliance with the condemnatory award against INAH and the National Workers’ Union of the Ministry of Culture (SNTSC), so that we are allowed to access these spaces, as dictated by the labor file 44/21 of June 12, 2024, issued by the Conciliation and Arbitration Court, since nine months have passed and they have not complied with us.

The workers explained that according to the ruling, the SNTAMP-INAH has the right to participate in the admission, ranking, training and scholarship sectors, and sectors, which would allow their more than 600 members to access these benefits, to which, they say, for now only the SNTSC has access.

“For us it is very important, because through them we can ensure that all workers have the right to access higher positions.

We now have no interference because SNTSC is the one that has control of all these commissionsCortés Cortés said.

Loza added that on March 12, Prieto Hernández called on all unions to meet to agree on the commissions; however, The SNTSC did not appear, and we were only with the official.

“On our rally, Diego Prieto received us and we gave him a document asking for compliance with the award, he accepted it and told us that it would have to be the plenary of the conciliation and arbitration the one who decides, which may take a week and a half, more or less, I have understood. We will wait for that resolution to dictate what actions we will perform.

“We are willing to attend the Federal Board of Conciliation and Arbitration to demand that this award be fulfilled.
