Charles do Bronx ignores Topria Burpa and challenges champion

Tired of waiting to be a heavyweight champion of the UFC, CHARLES DO BRONX OLIVEIRA decided to make a public challenge to Islam makhachev current owner of the belt, ignoring the reversed that took another champion of the organization.

With a recent victory over Michael Chandler, Charles said he is ready to fight for the title and does not intend to leave Ilia Topria, who climbed the division, pass in front of him.

“It’s very expensive talking too much. History at UFC I can talk, I’m going to be 15 years old, bonus record holder, finishing, guy who breaks records? It’s me. I want to fight at Fight Week, makhachev too. I really want to become champion once again. This is the fight that everyone wants to see, I’m ready.

The message of Oliveira came shortly after a free provocation that the Spaniard made on social networks, using his title of push-weight champion as a justification to be the next challenging lightweight.

“Charles, you better be quiet. You’re challenging while I’m champion, the father of all the division. I didn’t come here to ask anything. Here, who’s sending me,” said Topria.

Ilia Topria or Charles do Bronx: Who is the next?

Charles do Bronx is second in the ranking of the category and became the first in line after Arman Tsarukyan had to give up the fight with Russian because of a back injury.

The decision to go to the category, however, can make the Brazilian need to wait a little longer, as he has not lost his title-weight title and still has UFC champion status.

From the market point of view, Oliveira said he understands that Topria x Makhachev would be a very lucrative fight for the organization, especially in the International Fight Week, which takes place at the end of June. But as an athlete, he doesn’t find it fair for someone to pass in front of him.

Islam also believes that Ilia needs to face someone from the lightweight division before challenging the belt. Dana White, president of Ultimate, has not yet given any positions about the soap opera that formed in the Light Division.
