Isra Aerospace company tries to launch the first missile into trajectory from Europe on the morning of March 20. The Spectrum missile of the company takes off from the Australian port of Europe in Norway, but has problems 18 seconds after launching, according to Space. The video recording shows the missile falls after flying for a few seconds, plunging down the ice layer below and exploding into a bright fire bridge.
The engineers are unknown the cause of malfunction. From the video of the accident, the rocket fell to the ground with the engine turned off, so it is likely that the flight control staff ends the flight as soon as the vehicle starts to fall. Spectrum missiles do not carry any equipment on the first test flight. Isra Aerospace only aims to collect data on vehicles at this test.
This is the first rocket launch from the and Anya cosmic port, opened in 2023 and is located along the Norwegian beach in the north of the country. The ground stations and facilities of the space port are built for Isra Aerospace and Spectrum missiles, seemingly no damage after the incident.
Spectrum missile 28 m high. Compared to the vehicle, the Falcon 9 rocket of SpaceX is 70 m high. According to Isar Aerospace, Spectrum is a medium -sized vehicle, which can transport 1,000 kg of goods to the Earth’s low trajectory.
Spectrum has not yet reached the trajectory, but Isra signed an agreement with the Norwegian space to perform the first commercial tasks, whereby the missile will launch satellites for the Arctic Ocean Surveillance (AOS) in 2028. It is clear whether the incident on March 20 affects that timeline or not.
