Türkiye is trying to take control of the Syrian air base “Tias” (T4) and is preparing to place air defense systems there, reports Middle East Eye with reference to informed sources. The publication says that construction work is already planned at the facility.

The new Syrian authorities are counting on the help of Turkey in ensuring the air cover and military protection of the new government of Syria, which currently does not have existing armed forces, the publication is noted.
