Amazon presents an offer to buy Tiktok, a few days after the deadline

The American technological giant Amazon presented an offer to acquire the Chinese social network Tiktokaccording to The New York Times, as the deadline of April 5 is approaching for the social network to choose between separating in the US of its Chinese owner or confronting a prohibition in this country.

The newspaper, which had access to three people familiar with this proposal, says that the offer was presented through a letter addressed to the US vice president, JD Vance, already Howard Lutnick, secretary of Commerce.

However, the White House does not seem seriously take the offer of Amazon, according to the sources to which the medium accessed.

According to the specialized press, other technological ones that are interested in buying the popular application are Microsoft, Blackstone and Oracle.

One of the electoral promises of Republican Donald Trump was to save the application in his country despite national security concerns, which is why when he arrived at the White House, he delayed the closure of the application in the United States until next Saturday.

Trump plans to meet on Wednesday with senior White House officials to address the future of Tiktok, which has 170 million users in the United States.
