Rubio rejects an “endless” dialogue with Russia and points out that “sooner rather than later” it will be known if they want peace

The US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, has rejected this Friday a “endless” negotiation with Russia for a high fire in Ukraine, noting that the US president, Donald Trump, will not enter the game of discussing conditions with Moscow and that “sooner rather than later” the interest of the Kremlin will be known in stopping the conflict in Ukraine.

In statements to the press at the end of the meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers in Brussels, the head of American diplomacy has indicated that Russia knows the position of American and this does not go through entering long negotiations. “We will know for their answers very soon if they are serious about proceeding with peace or this is a dilatory tactic,” he argued.

“The president is not going to fall into the trap of an endless negotiation,” Rubio reiterated, warning that if Moscow shows not being interested in achieving fire, then the United States will have to examine its position.

“In the end, what matters is if we move forward. If this is real we will know soon,” he said, indicating that there are “positive” and “negative” signs on Moscow’s side regarding negotiations, although “optimistic” is maintained on the option of agreeing to peace.
