The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has confirmed that attacker Salma Paralluelo suffers an injury to the internal lateral ligament of her left leg, being replaced by Athenea del Castillo in the national team call for the second leg of the semi-finals in the Women’s Nations League.
“After the medical tests carried out this Saturday on Salma Paralluelo, the talented player has been diagnosed with an injury to the medial ligament of her left leg. The FC Barcelona footballer will return to Barcelona to begin her recovery,” the RFEF reported in an official statement.
Before reaching half an hour in La Rosaleda during the first leg of that ‘semi’ against the Swedish team, Paralluelo received a harsh tackle and was replaced on the field by Claudia Pina, scorer of two of the four goals with which Spain beat the Swedish team (4-0).
“In her place, Sonia Bermúdez has called up Athenea del Castillo. The Real Madrid player will join the team’s training camp in Las Rozas this Saturday afternoon ahead of the second leg of the tournament’s semifinals,” the RFEF said in another press release about the event on October 28 in Gothenburg.
