Indian tennisč 45 years old Rohan Bopanna announced on Saturday that he was retiring, ending a professional career spanning more than two decades in which he won two Grand Slam titles and was the oldest world number one in men’s doubles.

In 2024, Bopanna became the oldest ATP Masters 1000 champion by winning the men’s doubles title in Miami at the age of 44, with Ebden at his side again, čname breaking his own record set a year ago in Indian Wells.
Professionally, he won 26 men’s doubles titles, and also represented India at the Davis Cup and other multi-sport competitions, including the Olympics and the Asian Games, where he won the mixed doubles title in Jakarta in 2018 and in Hangzhou four years later.
His last professional meč he was at this year’s Paris Masters where he was a partner Alexander Bubliku in defeat of John Peers i James Tracy by a score of 7-5, 2-6, 10-8 in the semi-finals.
