Men prefer not to talk about prostate problems

A new study from Orlando Health found that 38 percent of men would rather talk about stressful situations—like losing a big game or a traffic jam—than talking about prostate problems. This avoidance of discussing medical problems often leads to late diagnosis and delay in treatment of diseases, including prostate adenoma.

Symptoms such as frequent or difficult urination, sudden urges, and especially waking up more than twice at night may indicate a problem. Despite the fact that these manifestations significantly worsen the quality of life, many men are still embarrassed to seek medical help.

The survey was conducted in the United States on the KnowledgePanel platform in two stages: from September 5 to 7, 2025 and from September 12 to 14, 2025. The study involved 1010 men aged 18 years and older. The sample was probabilistic and representative in nature, reflecting the structure of the country’s male population.
