More than 350 artists from the country will meet at the National Creators Forum 2025 from December 4 to 7, in Puebla, with the purpose of promoting dialogue between creative communities, weaving collaboration networks and exchanging experiences.

In a press conference, the general director of the Creation System – formerly Fonca –, José Luis Paredes Pacho, mentioned that the meeting is a platform for the beneficiaries of the system to present the progress of their projects after a year of work with their tutors.

“Creation is not only a product of individual talent, inspiration, tenacity of practice and daily study, but also of confrontation with the public. When they reach the viewer, the works not only take on a new meaning: feedback is also given to the creator,” said Paredes Cacho.

In the National Forum of Creators 2025, 29 activities will be carried out, among which the reflection tables stand out The social in art, Innovation in disciplinary practice y Music and audiovisual, supports for the promotion of national indigenous languages. In addition, exhibitions, editorial presentations and concerts will be held.

Decentralization

In this edition, the federal official added, emphasis has been placed on the decentralization of the meeting. “The purpose is for the Creation System to reach more and more distant corners of the Mexican Republic, to new social sectors, so that more and more people have access to the support given to the population.”

Alejandra Pacheco Mex, Secretary of Culture of Puebla, said that for the first time since its creation, in 2022, the meeting will be held outside of Mexico City. “This is an act of trust in our state, and above all a commitment to cultural decentralization.”

He added that the forum will bring together artists from Jalisco, Chiapas, Oaxaca, Yucatán, Tabasco and San Luis Potosí in Puebla, who will present projects of visual arts, literature, traditional Mexican music, verbal arts, design and graphics.

“It is not only a platform for the exhibition of final works, but a space where national artistic activity is strengthened.”

Pacheco Mex mentioned that the meeting will be held in spaces in the Historic Center of Puebla, such as the San Roque Cultural Center, a complex that was reactivated last year.

“Our local artists will have an active host, discussing and showing the work being done in the state.” He continued: “Culture grows when it moves, is shared and looks beyond the center.”

Luis Tarek Ortiz, head of the National Forum of Creators, said that in addition to a party, the forum has the particularity of putting the artist and the public – along with their needs – as the protagonists and at the center. “The protagonist is the dialogue between the artistic communities of the country and those of Puebla.

“There are many views with diverse, rich and deep experiences, which address issues of the public and the artists,” he added.

Tere Olmedo, tutor and textual artist, said that the forum is a cornerstone in the cultural system, since through it artists present the fruits of their labor to the community. “It is an act of transparency and celebration of the public effort poured into culture.”

He mentioned that in addition to the finished pieces, the meeting makes the processes visible: the logs, the samples, the failed prototypes, the notes in the margins or the workshop discussions.

“Art is a living territory of research, a testimony of the doubts, findings and drifts that constitute the creative act.”

The organizers agreed that after three decades, the Creation System has proven to be a powerful engine for the development of artistic and cultural expressions, strengthening independence and creative freedom.
