The “American Pie” star caused concern when videos of her being rushed to an ambulance in a Chicago hotel lobby were released on the TMZ website. Now she addresses the case for the first time and claims that someone put drugs in her drink that caused her to lose control of her body. “When I got back to the bar my glass was covered with a napkin and I thought to myself, ‘This is weird'”
Over the weekend, “American Pie” actress Tara Reid was rushed in a wheelchair to an ambulance waiting outside the lobby of the hotel where she was staying in Chicago. Paparazzi photos that surfaced on the TMZ website showed the star leaning over the wheelchair and not in control of her body. Now the 50-year-old Reed tells what exactly happened there and claims that someone put drugs in her drink.
In an interview with TMZ Live, Reid recounted the difficult night she experienced in Chicago, a night that led to hospitalization and self-examination about what really happened there. According to her, someone put drugs in her drink while she was sitting at the hotel bar. Reid says she went down to the bar on Saturday around 10:30 p.m., and by midnight she was already in the hospital. She woke up eight hours later. According to the recording times from the cameras, at 00:30 Reed was seen being led in a wheelchair in the lobby, and at 00:50 she was already being taken on a stretcher on the way to the ambulance.
According to her, the drug was put into the drink about 30 minutes after she arrived at the bar. She went out to smoke and left the glass on the counter. When she returned she found a napkin covering the glass, a napkin she had not put on herself. Nevertheless, she removed the napkin and drank the wine.
Reid says that at the hospital she was told that she was “drugged”, but according to her the explanation she received there was “very vague”, and she didn’t even ask what kind of drug caused her to lose consciousness for several hours.
Reid has had known problems with substance abuse in the past, but she insists that on that night she only had one glass of wine before waking up in the hospital bed. People who were there said that during the brief interaction with them she seemed perfectly fine, but her condition deteriorated rapidly, especially after the bar closed and the group moved to continue the evening in the lobby. Reid points out that there were several YouTubers who took pictures during the incident, and she is considering filing an official complaint with the police to find out what exactly happened.
