The French Police have arrested four other people this Tuesday for the robbery at the Louvre Museum on October 19, including the one who is considered the fourth and last member of the commando who in just seven minutes managed to take nine pieces of the French crown jewels, valued at 88 million euros.
The special anti-gang squad of the Paris Police has arrested who is believed to be the last member of the group that stole the jewels, an old acquaintance of the authorities, as well as three other people, who, although they did not participate in the assault on the museum, are part of the circle of the four arrested.
The alleged fourth member of the group has been accused of “organized robbery” and “conspiracy to commit a crime”, as reported by the Paris prosecutor, Laure Beccuau, through a statement reported in the newspaper ‘Le Parisien’.
The four arrested for participating in what was dubbed the ‘robbery of the century’ by the French press are originally from the Parisian municipality of Aubervilliers. However, the arrests this Tuesday were made in the department of Mayenne, in the west of France.
On October 19, security cameras showed how a group of four men carried out the daring robbery through a lifting platform mounted on a truck through which they accessed the Apolo Gallery, where they broke into two display cases containing these jewels.
