Real estate registration inspector Meir Porat found the actions of the owner of an apartment in a building in Ra’anana, in which the Resettlement-Development project was to be implemented, unconscionable.
The woman bought an apartment after the approval of the project began in the building, from a couple who were in the process of divorce proceedings. The previous owner of the apartment signed an agreement with the developer, but her husband could not sign the agreement because he was in the process of declaring bankruptcy.
After purchasing the apartment, she, in violation of the terms of the purchase agreement, refused to sign an agreement with the Developer, claiming that the absence of the previous owner’s husband’s signature on the agreement exempted her from this obligation. In addition, she demanded additional preferences as a condition for signing an agreement with the Developer in comparison with other apartment owners.
As a result, her position was declared unlawful and the real estate registrar ordered her to sign an agreement with the developer and pay 57.3 thousand shekels in legal costs.
