As many as 76 percent of companies consider increasing work productivity fairly or very important, but the utilization of artificial intelligence is still low.

As many as 76 percent of companies consider increasing labor productivity to be fairly or very important in their own operations.
Just under a third, on the other hand, say that they have invested more than their competitors in increasing productivity. This has been done especially in the ICT sector and industry.
The survey involved 629 business decision makers and was conducted between September and October.
So far the use of artificial intelligence is only slightly visible in the development of productivity. This brings opportunities to speed up productivity in the future.

According to Barometer, only a good third of companies have utilized the resources released by artificial intelligence to increase productivity. Artificial intelligence has been used the most in large companies.
Smaller companies, on the other hand, have challenges in developing the skills of the personnel in order to be able to utilize artificial intelligence.
So far companies have improved their productivity by developing skills, investing in well-being at work, developing communication and drafting work instructions.
The differences between industries are large. Productivity was estimated to be higher than average in the telecommunications, software and information services sector, as well as in wholesale and retail trade. The background may be the technicality of the work and greater innovation in the fields in question.
Expectations for continued productivity growth are also highest in the technology sectors and the largest companies. Instead, the weakest expectations are in the construction sector.
In total, a good half of the companies believe that their productivity will increase next year as well.
According to the barometer, companies hope for society’s support, especially for training and easing regulations. In particular, vocational and specific training are on the wish list of companies to increase productivity.
