Tickets to access the Louvre Museum in Paris (France) will increase in price by 45% in the case of individual tours starting next January 14, 2026 for visitors outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
Thus, the ticket for individual tours will cost 32 euros next year, compared to the current 22 euros, while the price for groups with accredited guides will also increase, up to 28 euros, where the number of participants will also now be limited to 20 people, as confirmed by a museum spokesperson to Europa Press.
In addition to the famous museum, this measure affects several other national cultural institutions, including the Palace of Versailles, the Center of National Monuments (Sainte Chapelle), the Paris Opera and the Palace of Chambord.
In early 2025, French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati announced the application of differentiated rates for EEA visitors and non-EEA visitors in several establishments.
This price increase is expected to increase the institution’s income by between 15 and 20 million euros per year, which will be allocated, in particular, to the technical master plans within the framework of the ‘Louvre – Nouvelle Renaissance’ project, which aims to modernize and transform the museum to respond to its structural problems.
In 2024, the Louvre Museum received a total of 8.7 million visitors, of which 77% came from abroad. In January 2024, the entrance price for all visitors was increased from 17 to 22 euros.
