The Film Academy will honor Marisa Paredes on the first anniversary of her death

The actress and former president of the Film Academy Marisa Paredes will be honored by the institution in the month of December, coinciding with the first anniversary of his death. The actress died suddenly on December 17, 2024 in Madrid at the age of 78.

The winner of Goya of Honor in 2018 will be remembered in a talk with Fernando Méndez-Leite, María Isasi, Joaquín Oristrell, Esther García, Carlos Molinero, among other friends and colleagues, before the screening of the film ‘Wild‘.

Likewise, the Academy has planned an upcoming visit by the American producer Jerry Bruckheimerone of the most recognized professionals in world cinema and television, who will visit the headquarters on Zurbano Street. Responsible for successes such as ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, ‘Formula 1’, ‘Top Gun’ o ‘CSI’, Bruckheimer will not be the only international presence in the last month of the year, since the North American director and screenwriter Nia DaCosta will accompany the screening of his recent work, ‘Hedda‘, provocative reimagining of Henrik Ibsen’s classic work. Furthermore, the Canadian actor Will Arnett will star in a discussion after the passing of ‘Offline’the latest feature film directed by Bradley Cooper.

In the last month of the year, the Film Academy will host two book presentations: ‘The movie of my life’, by Esteve Riambauaccompanied by Teresa Font, Casimiro Torreiro and Fernando Méndez-Leite; y ‘Photography direction in the Ibero-American audiovisual scenario at the beginning of the 21st centurya project that included one of the Luis García Berlanga Research Grants, presented by the authors Irene García Martínez and Conchi Cascajosa together with the directors of photography Teresa Medina and Migue Amoedo.

‘The Maid’s Daughters’a television adaptation of the work by Sonsoles Ónega, will be presented at the Academy with the screening of the first episodes and a meeting with the writer and journalist, the actress Verónica Sánchez, the Atrasmedia Fiction director Montse García, the executive producer Sonia Martínez and the screenwriter Irene Rodríguez.

Other events will be the Fiacine Ibero-American Film Festival, which will offer a selection of short films.
