A “surprise squat” from Trump – “In Europe, companies in the industry are also affected”

President of the United States Donald Trump said recently to set 100 percent tariffs on drugs and pharmaceutical products imported into the United States.

“You could say that this was traditional Pirjo Heikkilän a surprise squat”, described the news as a stock market reporter Ahti Terhemaa Kauppalehti’s live Talousaamu program.

Tariffs for the pharmaceutical industry have been talked about throughout the year, but they were left on the table in the bilateral agreement.

“Now then, the one hundred percent for patented medicinal products was shaken,” said Terhemaa.

Shares in Asian markets fell after the customs news.

“You can think that companies in the field will also be affected in Europe. Mostly in Finland, I guess to Orion“, Terhemaa thought.

“Finns have invested quite a lot in, for example, Denmark To Novo Nordisk. It’s very likely that these will be hit in some way”, Terhemaa surmised.
