The airline Air Haifa announced today the launch of a new flight line from Haifa to Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, which will begin operating in January 2026. The flights will take off three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and will last approximately 3 hours and 45 minutes. On the occasion of the launch, tickets will be offered at a special price starting at $79 one way, for three days only or while supplies last.
The Sofia route joins a number of major destinations already operated by Air Haifa, including Larnaca and Paphos in Cyprus, Eilat, Rhodes and Heraklion in Crete. These lines allow the residents of the north to enjoy short and comfortable flights, without the need for a long trip to Israel.
Dana Rubin, VP of customer experience at Air Haifa, said that the line was born following the clear request of the residents of the north to fly comfortably and at an affordable price: “Bulgaria has become a sought-after destination for ski vacations, and the direct departure from Haifa, without traffic jams and without queues, makes the vacation comfortable and enjoyable from the very first moment.”
The flights to Sofia will be operated seasonally until the end of March 2026, using new ATR 72-600 aircraft, which expanded the company’s range of operations. All tickets are sold in the Flex format, which includes the option of changing or canceling up to 24 hours before departure, a free hand bag and the option to add a trolley, suitcase or seat in advance for an additional fee. However, ski equipment or special sports equipment cannot be flown on these flights.
