Travel The journey to the island of Samui starts with the smell of popcorn from Bangkok International Airport, as the airline Bangkok Airways offers a comfortable lounge with catering for economy class passengers as well. The flight takes about an hour.

On Samui, the hot, humid air hits your face right at the plane door. The trip to the terminal is taken by a small “train” pulled by a golf cart, and the terminal does not offer cooling either, as it is an open but covered space throughout.
