Sinterklaas concludes the reading week in a festive manner in the Lanaken library

This year too, the reading week had a particularly warm and festive ending. On Sunday morning, Sinterklaas, accompanied by his Piets, walked on horseback towards the library. His arrival immediately resulted in bright children’s faces and proud parents who were enthusiastically waiting for him.

Author and musician Stijn Moekaars created a cheerful atmosphere during the arrival. With his music he managed to effortlessly draw young and old into a morning full of stories, songs and fun.

Sinterklaas took a seat in the storytelling chair and told an exciting story. The children listened with fascination and soon there was singing and dancing, together with Saint Nicholas and his helpers. It was a lively and heart-warming experience for all those present.

The tutten tree also played a special role. Sinterklaas had emptied the tutten tree one night. The saint promised to take all the babies to Spain, a symbolic moment that caused pride and emotion for many parents and children. “It was an unforgettable end to the reading week—full of warmth, music and magical moments,” the library said.
