Galaxy Z Tri Fold has a 10-inch screen when opened and 6.5 inches when folded, weighing 309 grams while the double-fold model Z Fold7 is 215 grams.
Samsung said the Galaxy Z TriFold started being sold in Korea from December 12, then to other markets such as China, Singapore and UAE. The device will also be available in the US in the first quarter of 2026 but there is no specific time yet.
Z TriFold uses an inward folding design to protect the main screen. If folded incorrectly, the device will vibrate and display a warning on the screen. Inside is a 10-inch screen, outside there is an additional 6.5-inch screen. The device has the thinnest point of 3.9 mm when opened and 12.9 mm when folded. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 double-folding screen smartphone has a 6.5-inch outer screen and an 8-inch inner screen, 8.9 mm thin when folded.

The highlight of the Z TriFold is its dual titanium hinges, which protect the main screen when not in use. Unlike Huawei’s Mate XT, the Z TriFold’s secondary screen is on the back, while the two sides can fold in the middle. The case is made of high-quality aluminum frame, equipped with IP48 dust and water resistance like Z Fold7 and Z Flip7.
The Z TriFold’s folding style required some distinct design tweaks. Samsung says the panels when folded have minimal gaps but do not touch directly. The hinge is designed to resist wear and tear, and the display has a new reinforced coating for added resistance.

The internal 10-inch screen has a resolution of 2,160 x 1,584 pixels, adaptive scanning frequency of 1-120 Hz and maximum brightness of 1,600 nits. The 10 megapixel selfie camera is “punched” on the top right edge and has a protective film applied like the Z series folding phone.
6.5-inch external screen, resolution 2,520 x 1,080 pixels, scanning frequency 1-120 Hz and 21:9 ratio. The screen can reach a maximum brightness of 2,600 nits, is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 and also has a 10-megapixel selfie camera.
The 6.5-inch outer screen is placed in the center and has a protective frame for the inner screen.
The device runs OneUI 8 operating system based on Android 16 optimized for large screens to run multitasking tasks. Users can open three full-size apps in portrait mode side by side.
The Galaxy Z TriFold is the first Samsung phone to feature a standalone DeX engine, creating a desktop-like interface. Combined with a mouse and keyboard, the Z TriFold can function as a portable computer.
The device uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip for Galaxy, like the Z Fold7. However, this chip is a generation behind the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Comes with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB or 1 TB internal memory.

The back of the TriFold inherits the three-camera cluster of the Z Fold7 with a 200-megapixel main camera (Isocell HP2 sensor), a 10-megapixel 3x telephoto lens and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. The three-cell battery inside has a capacity of 5,600 mAh, divided equally among the three back panels. The device supports 45W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.
The Z TriFold only comes in one black color option. Samsung has not announced the price but it is expected to be higher than the Z Fold7’s starting price of $2,000.
