Ukraine denies that the Russian Army controls the important town of Pokrovsk

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have denied this Tuesday the capture by Russian troops of the town of Pokrovsk, an important industrial center located in the province of Donetsk, and have assured that this information “does not correspond to reality.”

The Army, which has assured that it continues to control the northern part of the city and the railway line that crosses the area, has indicated in a statement that the fighting to take control of this strategic city continues, according to information disseminated through its Telegram account.

“The statements made by the authorities of the aggressor country about the capture of this and other towns are not real,” states the text, which also refers to the cities of Vovchansk and Kupiansk.

“Ukrainian Army units continue to carry out defensive operations in difficult areas of the front, especially in Pokrovsk, Vovchansk and Kupiansk. The brazen words expressed by the Russian leaders represent a new attempt by the Kremlin to use its propaganda to influence international negotiations,” the statement said.

In Pokrovsk, Ukrainian forces are carrying out operations “with the aim of eliminating terrorist cells,” they explained. “The enemy is suffering significant losses. Over the last day, we have neutralized 104 of them,” he continued.

However, they have admitted that the situation in Vovchansk and Kharkiv remains “tense” given that “the enemy does not back down.” “Still, we are maintaining our positions,” they said.
