The Château de Versailles, the Louvre Museum, the Paris Opera or the Mucem: 15 public cultural establishments will equip themselves with “youth advice” who will be consulted in programming, communication and mediation, according to a decree presented Tuesday to the Council of Ministers. This decree, proposed by the Minister of Culture Rachida Dati, will be published in the coming days in the Official Journal and will come into force the day after its publication, the ministry told AFP, specifying that “the advice will be put in place gradually”.
“Inspired by the “teen councils” present in a large number of Anglo-Saxon cultural institutions”these tips will allow “for young people aged 13 to 17 to get involved in the cultural life and in the governance of these establishments, with an advisory role”details a press release. “They will thus be able to offer innovative programming, communication or mediation solutions, in a peer-to-peer approach. They will be consulted on all elements of programming, museography or exhibitions. is added.

Fifteen establishments are currently concerned: the Louvre Museum, the Orsay Museum, the Center of National Monuments, the Château de Versailles, the Château de Fontainebleau, the Grande Halle de La Villette, the Paris Opera, the Philharmonie, the Théâtre de la Colline, the Théâtre de l’Odéon, the Théâtre national de Strasbourg, the Musée du Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac, the Comédie-Française, the Chaillot Theater and the Mucem.
