Israel is ready to sign a peace treaty with Syria. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made such a statement today.
According to him, however, before that, Syria should take a number of retaliatory measures, particularly in the form of creating a buffer zone along the border with Israel.
“Defending Israel’s northern border and preventing the creation of terrorist bases near it is our priority. We expect that Syria will create a demilitarized buffer zone that will extend from Damascus to the top of Mount Hermon,” Netanyahu said.
