The deepest mapping was done with a European of the LOFAR radio telescopes on the network.

Measurements showed that the distribution of radio galaxies in the direction of the Earth’s motion on large scales is more than three times what has been predicted.

The calculation made now means that our own solar system and with it the Earth would move in space at more than three times the speed compared to what was previously calculated.

“Another alternative is that the radio galaxies are not distributed in space as evenly as scientists have believed,” says the cosmologist Dominik J. Schwarz from the University of Bielefeld.

Even then, current models need to be re-examined.
