At the European Championship in Bulgaria, the dancers of Be Urban from Maaseik convinced the jury with a choreography characterized by technique, strength, empathy and emotional expression. The Sapphire competition team shone on the podium. “We are incredibly proud,” says coach and choreographer Imme Beesmans. “The hard work of the past few months has paid off.”
In addition to the European title, several solo dancers also won prizes. Audrey danced her way to an impressive first place in her category, Zlata achieved third place. As if that wasn’t enough, the modern Sapphire competition team led by Imme Beesmans went home with two additional awards that completed their weekend: the prestigious Golden Wings Award and a second place in the overall ranking of the entire competition.
Family and friends
The dancers were enthusiastically supported all weekend by family, friends and fans who traveled with them. The atmosphere was unforgettable. “Thank you to all the supporters who came along. It was a weekend you will never forget,” says Be Urban Maaseik. “With these exceptional performances, the Sapphire team confirms its strong position within the dance world,” the dance school said. “The team looks forward to new challenges with confidence.”
