Bosilj asks for evidence to be thrown out: On January 14, the court will decide on the file in the case of influence peddling

Uskok accuses Bosilj of agreeing with entrepreneur Robert Goti to adapt an apartment owned by Varadin HNK in exchange for issuing a permit for the construction of an underground garage under the entrepreneur’s residential building. Gothć in October, he pleaded guilty to bribery for influence trading and was sentenced to 10 months in prison, which were replaced by community service.

Uskok accuses Bosilj that in May 2022 he agreed to Goti’s request that, using the authority of the mayor and his hierarchical authority over the officials of the Administrative Department for Construction and Communal Management of the City of Varažcarondin, he would provide him with amendments and additions to the construction permit for the construction of a multi-residential building and auxiliary buildings and commercial buildings, in order to build an underground garage at that location.

The prosecutor’s office points out that Goti’s construction of an underground garage was hindered by street buildings at that location, for which the Opinion on special conditions for the protection of cultural property dated February 21, 2017, and the Supplement to the opinion dated September 5 of the same year of the Conservation Department in Varazcarondin, determined its reconstruction.

According to Uskok, the officials of the Administrative Department for Construction and Communal Economy of the City of Varaždin were not willing to comply with that change and addition, and Bosilj and Gotić were aware.

Uskok adds that Bosilj despiteč therefore, on May 13, 2022, through the head of the Department of Culture of the City of Varaždin, he submitted to Goti that the competent city Administrative Department will fully comply with his request if, in return, he adapts an apartment owned by the Croatian National Theater in Varaždin for free.

After Bosilj personally confirmed to him on May 23, 2022 that he would ensure the issuance of the appropriate amendment and supplement to the building permit, and after the Conservation Department in Varaždin told him that the street’s buildings could be rebuilt in the same volume, Gotić hired a company that adapted the mentioned apartment in the value of 22,845 euros including VAT.
