Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 surpasses Zootopia 2 at the North American box office

Five Nights At Freddy’s 2 worse than the first? The second installment, inspired by Scott Cawthon’s famous horror game franchise, easily rose to first place at the American box office, with $63 million in revenue for its first weekend. Directed by Emma Tammi, this result exceeded forecasts which expected revenues of between 35 and 40 million dollars, even if it remains well below the 80 million dollars garnered by the first opus released in 2023, with a simultaneous streaming release on the Peacock platform.

Mike Schmidt tries to rebuild his life with his sister Abby, far from the horrors of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. However, a new threat emerges in the form of animal machines. As he seeks to forget his past, a forgotten face resurfaces, disrupting his quest for peace.

Disney’s Zootopia 2 comes in second place with a total of $220 million in 14 days. This is much better than the first film, which topped out at $150 million at the same stage in 2016.
