Authorities have just discovered a store on Hoang Cong Chat street operating without a license, selling nearly 6,500 suspected counterfeit Nike and Adidas products.
According to the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development, on the evening of December 8, the inspection team of the market management force coordinated with PA05 – Hanoi Police – to unexpectedly inspect the facility owned by Mr. Duong Tan Rine.
The establishment operates under the household business model but cannot present the registration certificate according to regulations. The store representative said that the point of sale has been operating since mid-2025 but has not yet carried out business registration procedures.

When inspecting the goods, the authorities discovered 5,200 Nike-branded sports clothes, 1,200 Adidas-branded sets and 14 Puma-branded shirts. Most of the goods are consumed on e-commerce platforms. However, the establishment owner could not present invoices or documents to prove the origin. Printing, embroidery and packaging details show many signs of not conforming to genuine product standards.
The inspection team initially identified a number of goods with signs of counterfeit trademarks according to the Intellectual Property Law. The store also does not list prices according to the provisions of the Price Law 2023.
Mr. Tran Viet Hung, Head of the Market Management Operations Department, commented that the discovery of thousands of suspected counterfeit products at a small establishment shows that counterfeit business practices are becoming increasingly sophisticated.
All nearly 6,500 products were sealed, temporarily detained and transferred to the evidence warehouse of the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development. The authorities are continuing to verify and handle according to regulations.
