Signs in the legs warn of clogged arteries

Foot pain

Tired feet

Frequent tired legs can be a sign of poor blood circulation. Cholesterol buildup limits the supply of oxygen and nutrients that muscles need, making simple things like climbing stairs or hiking difficult. Over time, muscle strength can decline if blood circulation is affected.

One foot is colder than the other

Persistent cold feet or legs, especially after walking, are often associated with reduced blood flow. Since blood carries heat, any disruption can cause one side to feel colder. In severe cases, the skin will look pale or blue when the leg is raised.

Tingling, numbness or burning sensation in the feet

Change in skin color after walking

Abnormal changes in the skin on the legs such as pale, patchy color, blue-purple appearance can appear when blood circulation is limited. In cases of severe peripheral artery disease, leg skin is often shiny, hair grows little, and ulcers heal slowly.
