First he supported men who hate men, and then men who hate gays.
Ivan Penava managed to achieve all this with just one statement.
“If it bothers people who pray anywhere in public places,” Penava told reporters yesterday when they were commenting on the petition to remove the beggars from Croatian squares, “then if the initiators are thinking like this (petition initiator is Sanja Sarnavka, op.a.) the initiators are thinking, then let’s go with Gay Pride and everything that promotes woke ideology, let’s move them somewhere in the woods and mountains to the periphery so that they don’t irritate the majority of the Croatian people and citizens”.
The president of the Homeland Movement emphasizes that their way of thinking is “libertarian and democratic”, but in the same breath he still managed to say that the Pride Parade “has been abusing and irritating the entire Croatian public for ten years”.
The zida zida zida
“Not because of the way people live, let them do whatever they want within four walls,” said Penava, “but to aggressively impose it through the media, occupation of public spaces, streets where life stops in the centers of cities, in order to promote something that according to us and the majority of people is quite debatable in the way you are doing it.”
And so, in a couple of sentences, Penava managed to identify those who, through prayer, limit the freedoms of women, determine how they should dress, behave and position themselves in society, with those who demonstrate love with peaceful processions, seek personal space of freedom and demand equality in Croatian society.
This fear of gays is almost equal to the fear of žen.
Fear of the freedom and emancipation of men, of women’s freedom in relation to their partners, of women’s equality in society, and all this camouflaged in prayer and the so-called “mission of God”.
Molitva u četiri zida
Penava did not advise the supplicants to “do what they want within their own four walls”, either in their homes or in the churches that spring up in every Zagreb neighborhood and every Croatian hamlet. He did not explain why supplicants must communicate with God, if that is indeed what they do, in an open, visible and busy place, and not in churches where they otherwise address the Most High.
Or he addresses them.
Of course, by going out to the squares and public spaces, blasphemers express their contempt for women, they address women and not God, they put pressure on women and manifest public misogyny that has nothing to do with God.
God, in fact, should not tolerate his creatures suffering, even if they were destroyed, right?
And the work is Bogu
But this is what “religious” supplicants ask of men. To be submissive, submissive, obedient. To behave as men tell them. To take the place that men assign them. To listen to men and please men.
And he seeks all this in public places, so that everyone, not just God, will see and notice them there.
At the same time, Penava equated the rights of swearers to harass and terrorize women and the public with the rights of the homosexual community to publicly demand their rights and fight for their own acceptance in society.
They are exposed to discrimination almost like women in the Catholic environment.
Those on the streets do not manifest what Penava fears so much, which is same-sex sexual intercourse, more. they are publicly demanding the acceptance of a community that practically until yesterday had to hide in fear of persecution, and if you ask Penavu, they will have to hide again.
Politic čarth
At the same time, the blasphemers in the squares publicly, even aggressively, manifest what should be the private and intimate matter of every believer. Not a political one, but one of turning to God.
Therefore, Penava thinks that those who want to limit the rights and freedoms of women have the same rights as those who fight for their rights and freedoms.
Penava would “move the Pride Parade somewhere in the forests and mountains to the outskirts so that they don’t irritate the majority of the Croatian people and citizens”. But if this manifestation provokes and irritates – and only those who cannot come to terms with the fact that there are others and others – it cannot be compared with public manifestations of aggression and belittling of men and the promotion of “masculinity” in restraining men.
Self-defense and aggression
The Pride Parade appeals to curb passions, intolerance, hatred and discrimination against members of their community. The people of Klevac demonstrate intolerance, hatred and discrimination against all women who deviate from their discourse.
The pride parade is self-defense. Swearing is aggression.
Penava managed to be on the wrong side of both arguments in one statement. Nothing less could be expected.
