There is a search at the Artsakh representative office (to be completed)

“The criminal proceedings, within the framework of which the search operation is being carried out, were initiated in June 2025, and it is related to an alleged economic crime,” said lawyer Roman Yeritsyan, noting that “it concerns the signing of a cession agreement on behalf of the Artsakh Investment Fund within the framework of a loan agreement signed between a specific legal entity and a bank operating in Armenia.”

“The cession agreement was signed within the framework of the decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Republic of Artsakh. In other words, I personally do not record elements of open crime here, studying the court’s decision on the search,” said Yeritsyan.

The lawyer emphasized that it is not clear what documents they are looking for. “According to the court’s decision, it must be related to the action I mentioned a little while ago.”

“The court’s decision also discusses the criminal prosecution against Samvel Karapetyan and the testimony given by Samvel Karapetyan,” he said.

Roman Yeritsyan answered the question: has anyone been interrogated in the context of the criminal proceedings since June? “According to the information available to me, the director of “Ardshinbank” PB company was questioned, and the court based its decision on the criminal prosecution against Samvel Karapetyan. When the court justified its decision in one way or another and referred to concrete evidence, on the basis of which the search is being conducted today, it based the criminal prosecution against Samvel Karapetyan and the testimony given by him during the preliminary investigation.

The lawyer said he has no information about what kind of testimony we are talking about.

“We all understand the reason, persecutions have been active against the state institutions of Artsakh, including this building as a building representing the institutions, for a long time, just yesterday’s parliamentary hearings were an additional reason that there should be new searches,” Artak Beglaryan, president of the “Artsakh” Union, said in a conversation with journalists.

Beglaryan answered the question of “Freedom” whether he sees a connection between Prime Minister Pashinyan’s offer to Azerbaijan yesterday and today’s search. “There may be a connection, and Nikol Pashinyan or the Prime Minister of Armenia cannot be the one refusing the return of the people of Artsakh. The people of Artsakh should decide whether to return or not. In this case, the Prime Minister of Armenia can express the position of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, which is highly unacceptable for us, it is reprehensible.”

Pashinyan proposed to Azerbaijan to close the topics of the return of Karabakh Armenians and the so-called “Western Azerbaijan” in parallel.

The investigative committee is carrying out the search at the Artsakh representative office. Tigran Abrahamyan, secretary of the “I have honor” faction, and Metakse Hakobyan, deputy of the “Justice” faction of the Artsakh parliament, reported this.

“In the representative office of Artsakh, one day after the parliamentary hearings on the return of Artsakh citizens, today, the Investigative Committee is conducting searches in the representative office,” Abrahamyan noted.

The Investigative Committee confirms this information, stating that the necessary investigative actions are being carried out within the framework of the criminal proceedings. The CC does not elaborate on what criminal proceedings it is.

Yesterday there were parliamentary hearings in the Artsakh representation, during which Artsakh figures announced that L:they are not going to give up their right to collective return to Tripartite Karabakh.
