At least one dead and four injured in a Russian attack on Dnipropetrovsk, southeastern Ukraine

At least one person has died and four have been injured this Friday in an attack carried out by Russian forces against the town of Pavlograd, in the province of Dnipropetrovsk, located in southeastern Ukraine.

The governor of the area, Vladislav Haivanenko, has indicated in a statement that the deceased, who died in a “drone attack” carried out during the night, is a 71-year-old man.

“Four other people have been injured. A 54-year-old woman has burns and is in serious condition,” he explained, while regretting that five homes have suffered a strong fire and one has been “completely destroyed.”

The attack has also reached the Sinelnikove district, where a property has been damaged as the Russian invasion of the territory progresses. This same Friday, Russian troops carried out a “massive attack” against the city of Odessa, in the south of the country, where they caused damage to the energy infrastructure.

Thus, many homes have been left without electricity, as indicated by local authorities in a statement released through Telegram. “Despite the efforts of the air defense systems, the energy infrastructure has been damaged,” the text states.

DRONES SHOT DOWN

The Ukrainian authorities have reported the launch of some 80 drones by Russia in the last few hours – a lower number than the previous day -, 64 of which have been shot down, as reported by the Air Force in a statement released through Telegram.

These attacks “have been repelled thanks to aviation, anti-aircraft missiles and unmanned systems of the Armed Forces,” said the Air Force, which has warned that some drones that could not be intercepted have fallen on Ukrainian territory.

The Russian authorities, for their part, put the number of Ukrainian drones destroyed at 63 since early in the day when they were heading to various parts of the country, without commenting on possible victims or material damage.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has indicated that in total 90 unmanned aerial vehicles of the Ukrainian Army have been registered, most of them over Bryansk, near the border, but also over Yaroslavl and Moscow, among other areas.
