Expedition 33 is crowned best game at The Game Award and the most awarded, with nine awards

Chiaroscuro: Expedition 33 has risen like the best video game of the year in The Game Award, a recognition that is added to the other eight achieved, and which places it as the most awarded in the 2025 edition.

The award for best video game of the year went to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, from Sandfall Interactive and Kepler Interactive, placing itself above Deatch Stranding 2: on the Beach, Donkey Kong Bananza, Hades II, Hollow Knight: Silksong and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, which also competed in this category.

This dark fantasy role-playing video game has also been recognized in the categories of best narrative, best address, best artistic direction, best score and music (that firma Lorien Testard), best interpretation (Jennifer English), best indie game, best debut of an indie game y best RPG.

The players choicehowever, has recognized Wuthering Wavesby Juro Games, as the best game in the latest edition of The Game Award, the awards that each year recognize the achievements of the video game industry.

Other titles that have also received awards are: No Man’s Skyas the best continuous game; Umamusume: Pretty Derbyas best mobile game; The Midnight Walkas best VR/AR game; Hades II, as best action game; Hollow Knight: Silksongas best action and adventure game; and Fatal Fury: City of Wolvesas the best fighting game.

For its part, Donkey Kong Bananzahas received the award for best family game; Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chroniclesfor the best simulation and strategy game; Mario Kart Worldfor the best sports and racing game; Arc Raidersfor best multiplayer; Grand Theft Auto VIto the most anticipated game; and Counter Strike 2for the best eSport game.

The best audio design has gone to Battlefield 6while Doom: The Dark Ages has been recognized with the award for innovation in accessibility, and South of Midnight for its social impact.

It has also been highlighted The Last of US: temporada 2, as the best adaptation of a video game already Moistcr1tikal as content creator of the year. Regarding the competition or eSports community, Chovy – Jeong Ji- Hoon has won the award for best eSports athlete (League of Legends) and Team Vitality to the best eSports team (Counter Strike 2).
