Thousands of Croats receive 15 euros in their accounts, here is when the payment starts

19,161 beneficiaries (80.25% of women and 19.75% of men) will receive the national allowance for the elderly, for which 2,953,442.60 euros have been provided from the state budget.

As of January 1, 2025, the national allowance for the elderly is 154.50 euros.

The right to national compensation for the elderly can be exercised by a Croatian citizen who has reached the age of 65, with a residence in the territory of the Republic of Croatia for a continuous period of 10 years immediately before submitting the application for the exercise of the right, which is a basic condition, in addition to which other conditions prescribed by law must be met, namely:

– that he is not a pension beneficiary or an insured person in the mandatory pension insurance

– that his income and/or the income of his household members realized in the previous calendar year per household member per month does not exceed twice the amount of the national allowance for the elderly (309.00 euros)

– that he is not the beneficiary of the right to the guaranteed minimum compensation according to the regulations on social welfare
