Google’s new tool for the web creates interactive apps with Gemini from open tabs

Google aims to change the way we surf the internet with Gemini’s artificial intelligence and its Disco project, which with its first tool allows you to create interactive web applications from open tabs to complete tasks.

GenTabs is a tool in testing within Google Labs that allows you to create interactive web applications tailored with the help of Gemini 3using natural language to describe what is needed.

This tool can offer suggestions for creating ‘apps’ based on what the user is doing. For example, if you are looking for information about the planets to help your child study, you can create from prompts or suggest an ‘app’ that helps visualize and interact with them to better understand the topic.

To create the application, GenTabs takes into account open browser tabs and chat history, to understand the task, and always links original sources, as Google reports in a statement shared on its blog.

GenTabs is the first tool Disco, a project with which Google intends “reinvent navigation and content creation for the modern web“, adapting to new times in which “online tasks have become more complex.”
