María Corina Machado is received by the kings and the crown prince of Norway

The Nobel Prize ceremony for Machado last Wednesday, to which the winner could not arrive on time, was presided over by the kings and crown princes Haakon and Mette-Marit, and their daughter, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, who celebrated her debut at this annual event.

That same day, the monarchs received in audience at the Royal Palace of Oslo Ana Corina Sosa, daughter of the opposition leader, who collected the award and read the award acceptance speech on behalf of her mother.

The crown princes and Princess Ingrid Alexandra were also present at Sosa’s audience.

Machado, deserving of the award “for her fight for a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy”, as the Royal Family recalls, landed in the Norwegian capital hours later and at dawn, visibly tired, but smiling, she went out to the balcony of the Grand Hotel in Oslo to greet her supporters gathered outside.

Later, she left the building to approach the dozens of Venezuelans stationed on the street to receive her.
