Russia-Ukraine War | Recep Tayyip Erdogan asks Vladimir Putin for a ceasefire limited to energy and ports in Ukraine

The president of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan considered this Friday during a meeting with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin that a partial ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia for energy facilities and ports could be “beneficial” for both sides.

According to the Turkish presidency in a statement, Erdogan described as “valuable” the efforts to end the war and achieve a “just and lasting peace.”

He also expressed his conviction that progress could be made in this regard in fields that offer benefits to both parties.

The two leaders met this Friday in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, within the framework of the international security forum.

According to the Turkish presidential office, Erdogan said that “a limited ceasefire, with priority on energy facilities and ports, could be useful.”
