Chocolate war: retail chains halve prices for standard bars

Several retail chains in Israel have announced a sharp reduction in prices for standard chocolate bars.

Basic varieties of “Cows” produced by the companies “Elite”, “Milka” and their own brands are now sold, depending on the network, at 4-5 shekels per tile instead of 8-10 shekels, and varieties with various fillings – at 7-8 shekels instead of 15-20 shekels.

It should be noted that over the past year, global cocoa prices have fallen by half from their peak levels, although they still remain double the prices of two years ago.
