‘Shots of mind, reflections on emotions’ on display at the Sforzesco Castle

The project, conceived by the photographer and journalist Silvia Amodio as part of the third edition of the Festival of Girls and Children, explores the emotional panorama of childhood through portraits of girls and boys created with few indications to encourage spontaneous expressions. Alongside Amodio, the psychologist Valentina Silvestri collected testimonies and reflections from the children, highlighting the importance of emotional and non-verbal language in early childhood. For Professor Viola Macchi Cassia, emotional skills are rooted in the first thousand days of life, a period in which the sensitivity of adults influences the development of children. According to the president of Coop Lombardia Alfredo De Bellis, understanding the emotions of the little ones is “fundamental to building a more empathetic society”.

The exhibition is free and open to the public every day, while the volume of the project is on sale at the Castle bookshop and online on biblioteca.coop.
