19-year-old Elinor Maimon from Jerusalem died in a skiing accident in the French Alps. According to JFeed, the tragedy occurred on Monday, December 15: the girl’s body was found on the territory of the ski resort about an hour after the slopes were closed.
A rescue team was called to the scene, but they had no choice but to declare the girl’s death. According to preliminary data, she fell into a ravine at the edge of the slope. Elinor was with her relatives at the resort; it was they who sounded the alarm and called rescuers when they did not find her on the descent.
A representative of local authorities said that the girl was wearing a helmet, but despite precautions, the injuries received were incompatible with life.
Elinor Maimon immigrated from France with her family about three years ago and settled in Jerusalem. The girl had dual Israeli-French citizenship and had recently lived in France.
