According to Galante, because these are different actions, Brazilian exiles do not immediately run a security risk in the United States, as they are also, in a certain way, protected by the American government.

“The direct sanction against Minister Alexandre de Moraes will not be reversed, I believe, at first, in the protection that these people have here. Even because, the ongoing legal actions against Minister Moraes in the United States have not undergone any changes, especially because they are not linked to the government, but are in the American Judiciary, which is investigating the minister’s attitude, as he persecuted American companies and individuals outside of his jurisdiction”, declared the Republican politician.

Therefore, Moraes will be tried by an American court. “In principle, he should be convicted of these crimes, as there is a wide range of evidence in this regard. Initially, this should not be changed”, emphasized Galante.

According to the Texas councilman, the expectation in American politics is that, during this negotiation process between the Trump administration and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), there will be a normalization of the judicial regime in Brazil, so that these people exiled in the United States can return to their country without risk.

Furthermore, Galante emphasized that this stabilization of democracy in Brazil will be essential for the holding of clean and safe elections in 2026.
