NVIDIA announced the construction of a mega-campus in Kiryat Tivon: “Israel is our second home”

Nvidia will pay a relatively low sum of NIS 90 million for 90 dunams of state land, and will also pay the local council about NIS 7.5 million a year in municipal tax (arnona), subject to a 50 percent discount.

The total development area will be 160,000 sq. m. m. The buildings will be designed in the style of the iconic headquarters in Santa Clara. Construction work will begin no earlier than 2027, with the first occupancy scheduled for 2031.

According to a company press release, the campus will offer an innovative work environment and modern infrastructure: parks, visitor centers, cafes and restaurants. The complex will also include labs and co-working spaces to foster collaboration and innovation both within Nvidia and with startups and partners in the local technology ecosystem.

The project is expected to give a powerful impetus to the development of the north of the country, as it will attract thousands of employees to Kiryat Tivon, Ramat Yishai, Yokneam, Haifa, Nesher and Kiryat Ata.

At the same time, the load on the existing infrastructure will increase: the nearest Kfar Yehoshua railway station is located approximately 5 km from the future campus. Nvidia will consume electricity in very large volumes, which will require the construction of special power plants and substations.

As Globes reports, the architect of the deal was Kiryat Tivon resident Amit Craig, senior vice president of software development at Nvidia and head of the company’s Israeli development center.

Craig was involved in numerous meetings with the Land Office, the Planning Office and the Electricity Company, overseeing the entire process from requesting information to signing an agreement with the authorities.
